Letters from Customers |

I couldn't be more pleased and happy
with the roses I've ordered from you. 'Francis Dubreuil
and Happy Child are healthy and thriving - both exquisitely
beautiful - both with heavenly scents! You run a first
class operation, put out a terrific catalog, have great
customer service, sending healthy, thriving, glorious
roses.
Many thanks,
Marianne D.

Dear Mr. and Mrs. Clements,
I purchased a 'Joan Fontaine' rose from you in the fall two years ago. I have
been hesitant to buy roses because they always seemed so finicky and prone
to all kinds of problems. However I was named after Joan Fontaine so I took
the plunge. We live in a town home and have a small flower bed out front. Let
me tell you, 'Joan Fontaine' has done you proud! Just bloomed continuously,
even after a cold snap. We had lovely blooms in November and December.
Thank again for making the world more beautiful

Just to let you know - We have minus 25 degree winters and our 'Henry Kelsey' and 'William
Baffin' are 10 ft. tall and never have suffered any die-back in 10 years. We
leave them up on the arbors unprotected - They are wonderful.

Gentlemen,
So far all of the roses I've planted from your garden are doing very well.
As a matter of fact, my rose garden has become a conversation piece in the
neighborhood. Keep up the good work.

It has taken me weeks - months to order. I just can't make up my mind! I was
delighted to see you have the Everblooming Climbing Cecile Brunner. Last summer
I bought five of your roses home. I'm so glad to have found you with your own-root
roses. They're doing just great. I'll be replacing the ones I have that are
grafted little by little.

Dear Friends,
I have been your customer for about eight or so years and it has been a joy!
Your ramblers are more beautiful than any climber. In the spring our garden
literally blooms "like a rose"! Thank you! All rose plants grew well.
Especially the 'Handpainted' ones are a pleasure to have.
Sincerely,
Margaret H.

Dear Louise and all,
I thought I had a nice selection of old roses until I read your catalog!!
An outstanding catalog that I wish I had 4 years ago when I embarked on
a most pleasant task: creating a cottage garden and rose garden at my Vermont
house which is an 1840 Saltbox. It hasn't been easy and after reading hundreds
of catalogs and many books on roses (including Austin's book and the new
Peter Beales book). I have to say your catalog is the most informative
and best laid out I've ever seen. Not to mention the fact you ship just
about year round and have every variety I have wished for when reading
old rose books.
Thank you!

Dear Mr. And Mrs. Clements,
Just received your catalogue. Stayed up until 2:30 a.m. reading it and
finished it today. Many 'I cannot resist for my next garden', we shall
be moving next year, cleaning up the garden, planning the lay-out, and
finding a way to fit all the wonderful roses in. I just wanted to take
the time to thank you for the enormous amount of work that your catalogue
and your whole effort represents and let you know how much it is appreciated
and enjoyed. I particularly wanted to thank for you excellent descriptions.

Dear Heirloom,
I have seen your O.G.R. catalog at the Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical
Gardens Library. It is easily the most extensive and practical O.G.R. catalog
ever in the U.S. It's difficult to imagine any better from anywhere in
the world.

Dear Folks,
Received your catalog yesterday and wanted to call to tell how very thrilled
an excited it made me. I'm very new at this and have fallen in love with
the shrub and Old Garden Roses.
Especially enjoyed the personal touch of Louise Clements.
Thanks so very much.
