Ordering with Heirloom Roses
- Shipping Season
- Because our roses are potted and greenhouse grown, we are able to ship all 12 months of the year depending on weather in your area. You may plant your roses at any time except during periods of extreme cold. Our roses are shipped semi-dormant in November, dormant from December – February, semi-dormant in early March and leafed out and growing the rest of the year. In the spring you should plan your order to coincide with or follow the date of the last frost in your area. Sometimes there are weather conditions en route to you that could delay departure from our nursery. Growing and planting instructions are included with each order.
- Shipping Costs
- The shipping costs for roses and merchandise are calculated differently.
Roses
Any order with roses requires a base "packaging & handling" fee to cover the extra costs involved in shipping these living products. After the packaging & handling, there is a charge per each individual rose (with different costs for regular and miniature roses).
Merchandise
The shipping for merchandise is calculated based on the total cost of all merchandise products (clothing, books, gardening tools, etc.) in your cart. This calculation does not include the price of any roses that may be in your cart. See the chart below for the breakdown of shipping costs for the different tiers of merchandise totals.

- Payment
- Payment is due in full and will be charged at the time of order entry. We accept Checks, Money Orders, Visa, Discover and MasterCard. Oregon has no sales tax. All payments are to be made in US funds. We also accept phone and fax orders. Phone number is 1-800-820-0465. Fax number is 503-538-5902. The ‘Office’ and ‘Sales Cottage’ will be closed on select holidays each year.
- Guarantee
- Due to the extra care we put into our growing and shipping we are pleased to offer the following guarantee: We guarantee our roses to be true to variety and free of rose virus. Under normal care and conditions they will grow and flourish. Our guarantee covers only roses planted in growing zones recommended in our catalog and online. If when you receive your order and something seems wrong, please contact us immediately. If a plant fails to grow and we are notified with three months of your receipt of the order, we will replace the rose once. We cannot be responsible for abnormal weather conditions such as extreme heat, cold or possible neglect on the part of the gardener or other circumstances beyond our control. Following our planting and care instructions ensures you the best results in growing own-root roses and will keep the guarantee in force.

- Heirloom Roses respects your right to privacy and believes in keeping your personal information confidential. Information you provide us will only be used to enhance your shopping experience and our record keeping. It is our policy to not share any information provided to us by you with anyone else. To process your order we will need your name, email-address, shipping address, credit card number, and expiration date. Our secure server is designed to protect this information. We may from time to time, email any specials we offer, acknowledgments or information about your order. If you do not want this service, please let us know.
