About Special Shipping Months
You might be wondering why some of our roses as marked with "This rose begin shipping in..." (followed by a specific month).
Ensuring That Your Roses are Safe for Shipping
Our rose inventory at the nursery is kept in either 'warm' or 'cold' greenhouses.
Our youngest and actively growing inventory live in the 'warm' greenhouses until they reach maturity and can be safely shipped after the last frost in the area of their destination (your address!). Only once we deem that it is safe to ship from Oregon to the weather in your zone, will we ship these roses. The month listed within roses marked with "This rose begin shipping in..." is the month that these young and actively growing roses will be safe for shipping for this current year. Thus, we mark the roses with that message so that you can estimate when you'll be receiving your roses from us.
On the other hand, the 'cold' greenhouses store roses that are more mature and are acclimated to the weather conditions year round here in Zone 8. This inventory we can ship year round (except for periods of extreme cold and freezing temperatures, either here or at their destination).
Take Advantange of Pre-Ordering to Ensure The Best Selection
We offer year-round ordering of the 'warm' inventory roses so that you may have the best selection and purchase roses before they are out of stock. Your roses are cared and for shipped at the best time for your location and planting zone. We used published last frost dates for larger populated areas of each state. We may make an exception to this rule but doing so will waive the guarantee we offer (the customer takes full responsibility for the shipment outside of our recommended shipping dates).
