Louise Clements™

Type: Shrub

While not a David Austin Roses, Louise Clements was rated by the American Rose Society ahead of 30 out of 33 David Austin English Roses for exhibition beauty. This rose has been greatly admired by both our staff and garden visitors, receiving rave reviews. Bred from 'Graham Thomas'. The old-fashioned, fully double, English-style 4" blooms (petals 70) can best be described as an intense copper. It is a color quite unlike that found in any other rose. When John first saw the rare beauty and outstanding character of this rose he knew he would name it for his wife. This plant is a continual blooming upright bush with reddish stems and bronze-green foliage which provides a background for the striking blooms and an added bonus of lovely fragrance.

Slow start but lovely in second yearReview by Amy

At first I was a little disappointed. Now in second year, it is so lovely. It's a smaller rose that grows upward in a narrow planter area next to my lawn and backs up to a fence. The cluster of blooms really make it pop and are long lasting. I have a tree that has grown a lot so it shades the rose from hot, late afternoon sun yet it does very well in its home. I plan to try more in pots next. (Posted on 7/18/2017)
Just beautifulReview by Steffb

I was reluctant to order a rose through the mail. When it came it was nothing more than a twig. Two years later, this is one of the most beautiful in my garden. I live in northern Ohio and I was sure it would never last the winter. Not only did it survive but it is a a full beautiful disease free bush. The color is amazing it blooms a gorgeous dark orange then the petals completely change to light pink. I have now ordered 3 roses from Heirloom and I have not been disappointed. I recommend them to all my friends. (Posted on 12/10/2016)

This rose is so beautiful on a trellis that shares space with my Blue Clematis. I love how full this rose is. I got such great reviews when my friends saw it online. (Posted on 1/25/2014)
Even more impressive in year twoReview by Rodger

Louise Clements, the rose, has grown well during its second year in my garden and produced a goodly number of beautiful blooms. It is a smaller plant, but I wouldn't called it or its flowers miniature. Buying one or two more. It's that beautiful and reliable. I have grown it in pots of increasing size, and it has adapted well to container culture. (Posted on 1/19/2014)
Smaller bushReview by Jen

Lovely color on roses, for me this has been a slow growing bush that is more of a large miniature. Fun to watch it fade to a pinker color. (Posted on 7/21/2013)
Very beautiful rose and plant (grade A)Review by Rodger

Color and form every bit as beautiful as the photo shows. Healthy plant with healthy leaves (had some downy mildew in late fall but that's it). Flowers start off a cheerful orange color then ages to pinkish orange and finally orange pink. The shade of orange goes well with other colors in the garden. (Posted on 5/8/2013)
