Details
'Cabbage Rose' is a term that has been applied to many roses over the years but in truth it should be applied only to 'rosa centifolia'. Today it is one of the most classic of all old roses and the bloom most often depicted in the paintings of the Dutch masters and other artists of the 1700 and 1800's. A beautiful shade of deep pink, 3 1/2" cupped cabbage shaped, old fashioned, very double blooms (centifolia means 'hundred petaled') are blessed with a strong heady perfume. They are produced on a somewhat arching plant with grey-green leaves. 'Cabbage Rose' is one of the major foundation varieties for any garden containing old garden roses. Easy to grow. Once blooming
