  • Winter Hardy

Florentina is a very robust, disease-resistant, and Winter-Hardy Climber with nostalgic red flowers that bloom throughout the season.  Her 3.5” blossoms are moderately fragrant, and she stays more compact as a Climber topping out around 7’ in height. This very floriferous variety grows elegantly along a fence, trellis, or arbor for support.

Happy Rose

Arrived healthy a month ago. It is still lookong good and has no problems yet. Black spot is rough down here. My first two roses that I bought last year have it. I have been spraying them all with neem. I hope that it doesn't get sick. It is also budding. I look forward to seeing the first flowers.

So far very pleased

This rose arrived healthy, and has been growing rapidly since planted. It is a young plant, so it needs time before training, but I am very excited!

Very happy with healthy plant

I haven't planted my Florentina rose yet but I love the plant they sent me and the health looks great so far . It was packaged perfectly too. Hope it's as beautiful as advertised. Can't wait to see !

Thee Perfect RED rose

I planted this rose underneath an umbrella canopy of a redbud tree 3 years ago. Yesterday I noticed a cane about 11 or 12 feet tall standing straight up. I originally was trying to get it to climb the 5 suckers I had growing from the dead redbud tree. Eventually setting up a lattice board instead. But I guess 1 stem got away and is at the top of one of those suckers I was growing anyway. So I think it can grow longer than the 7 foot expected. It is the prettiest red rose I ever seen. No fragrance that I could smell though. I guess that is why the Japanese Beatles don't mess with it. So that's a plus.

Fantastic Climber

I am a novice gardener and David Austin roses drew me into the world of old fashioned garden roses. They taught me roses are fleeting beauties afflicted with disease, and poor repeat flowering. Florentina taught me none of that was true!! The only cons I can think of are that this climber is quite vigorous, no noticeable fragrance, and while the blooms last on the shrub a very long time, towards the end of their life the color shifts to a purplish red that I am not fond of. Regardless, I highly recommend this near perfect red rose.
