For many years "First Prize" was the yardstick against which all new roses were judged. The long pointed buds open into perfect 6+" flowers (petals 25+) that are made up of half swirled hues of rose-pink with an ivory pink reverse. All of this on a continually blooming bushy plant with dark green, leathery leaves that provide the perfect foil for its outstanding blooms. Bred by the Dean of American Rose Breeders, Gene Boerner. All American Award winner for 1970 and it earned a rare Gold Medal from the American Rose Society.
