Joseph's Coat

We have waited many years to offer virus-free, virus-indexed plants of 'Joseph's Coat', the most strikingly colorful of all climbing roses. Large trusses of medium sized, semi-double 4" blooms (petals 12+) of cherry-red, overlaid, shaded and blended with gold. They open fully to show rich deep golden centers. A color combination that will catch your eye the minute you enter your garden. An upright continually blooming plant with dark-green glossy foliage. May be grown as a free standing shrub, pillar or climber. Makes a wonderful hedge. Very vigorous and easy to grow in inferior soil.

Planted in the spring. This plant survived the Mississippi summer and a drought without extra TLC! (Posted on 1/28/2017)
UniqueReview by Johnny cans
Very different multi color rose that changes color through its bloom. Large quanties of flowers. Best bloom is first. Blooms decently to the fall. Black spot can be an issue but not a major concern. Low climbing habits with lots of thorns. (Posted on 11/11/2016)
Beautiful!!!Review by Cohen
Ordered this rose and it came extremely well packed. After following the directions for planting, I already have tons of new growth. First blooms have occurred and the color is just like the picture. I ordered 4 different roses at the same time and all are doing well. Nice job all!!!

So specialReview by Dorothy
I received him in May, healthy. It us now June 21st and I have 2 beautiful roses and a few more rosebuds. When the sun shines on him just right, he looks aflame or glowing. Wish I could attach my picture. (Posted on 6/20/2016)
Breathtaking BeautyReview by Gail
The newly opened buds on this climbing rose have a center that glows with a warm yellow light like a burning ember. The longer the flower is exposed to the sun, the redder it becomes. There is a slight fragrance, as well. This is a strong grower and it seems to thrive on neglect. I've grown this beauty for 20+ years in the same spot and it's still blooming reliably! My only negative comment is its tendency to fall victim to blackspot. Of course, in the Puget Sound region of Washington, most every rose does! (Posted on 5/26/2016)

Wonderful - Our favorite!Review by SpringfieldGal
On a trellis behind other roses of similar shades, this is georgeous - ties the whole rose garden together. It's my husband's joy to view it in the morning when the sun comes through the petals. It gets rave reviews from company, too. (Posted on 6/5/2014)

Favorite of all time!Review by Vee
This is the rose I started with when I started my garden. It is still my best performer and the most beautiful show-off in bloom! Heirloom sent me healthy stock and I could not be happier with this bush. (Posted on 4/7/2014)
Robust growerReview by SJ
Grows like a weed! Very proliferative. Nearly always blooming - colorful blooms. Nasty thorns, though - big and sharp. (Posted on 12/22/2013)
