Details
From the richly colored flowers to the delectable scent, this member of the Explorer Series bred out of Canada evokes the fruits of summer. The cupped blooms open from deep raspberry-red buds held in sprays of six to twelve above newly emerged leaves richly tinted with red. As the disease resistant foliage matures, it takes on a dark green sheen that provides the perfect backdrop for deep red blooms and the aroma of raspberries. Alexander MacKenzie was named in honor of the Canadian explorer who was first to reach the Pacific over land. A very double 3" bloom, with 45 petals, repeat blooming during the season.
