Details
The first yellow rose of the Explorer Series, J.P. Connell offers blooms that grow more numerous and more richly colored with each passing season. Its yellow buds appear singly or in clusters of three to eight in stiff, nearly thorn-less canes of yellow-green. Initially appearing as high centered blooms of lemon yellow, the flowers open fully to reveal prominent golden stamens. As they age, the petals fade to ivory yellow and fill the air with an intense tea fragrance as they do. Good resistance to mildew and is one of the best hardy yellow roses available, hardy to zone 3.
