  • Fragrance

Named for one of the most beautiful British gardens, Wollerton Old Hall™ is just a dream! She is one of the most fragrant of all English Roses. Her strong, warm, and intensely floral fragrance is in the myrrh family with gentle hints of apricot. The plump buds, with attractive flashes of red, open to form beautifully rounded, chalice-shaped blooms of soft apricot gently aging to a subtle cream. She forms a particularly healthy, upright, bushy shrub with few thorns. She routinely receives 5-star reviews and is highly coveted. We recommend planting this rose where her strong scent can be easily appreciated.

Stunning Climber

I got this David Austin as a gift from my nephew and I highly recommend it. I have to admit that this beautiful climber was one of those that followed the old maxim of 'sleeps, creeps, leaps.' She climbed a whole bunch the first two years and only bloomed a few times. The blooms were beautifully cupped, but smallish and didn't have much of a scent.

What a huge difference this third year made. The blooms have been almost non-stop and medium-sized with a delightful spicy scent. They're exactly as shown on the photos. Earlier in the year, they showed a light yellow, fading to cream, then white. Now with the weather cooling, the bud displays a bit of pink as well before opening. Then, you have that spicy, heavenly aroma! This rose is a raving beauty and I wish I had more fence line for a second one.

Old fashioned beauty

This is one of the first roses I have ever planted, which I planted last year. The first year I was like hmm it doesn’t seem to smell as much as I thought it would. This year though, this rose shot up, it’s so beautiful and fluffy with lots of blooms all the time. It has so many blooms I often cut some off to bring them inside for a bouquet. And it smells so good, when I am gardening near the rose I always think “oh what is that delightful perfume smell” and then I remember it’s the Wollerton! Ha.

She is lovely

I have had this beauty for 2 years and she has had just a few blooms, until this year! She has exploded with beauty, six buds at once!
