A Shropshire Lad®

Type: David Austin

A large, strong-growing shrub for a position further back in the border. It is related to 'Leander' from which it inherits its vigorous, healthy growth and large, glossy foliage. The flowers are soft peachy-pink and of slightly cupped, rosette formation. A most reliable shrub that is easy to grow.

I planted this last year and was not sure in the spring how well it was going to do, as it was a slow start after the winter, Zone 7. However, it has come on beautifully, not huge amounts of roses so far but makes nice cut roses for inside. (Posted on 7/30/2018)

Very disease resistant in my Seattle zone 8b garden. Has grown up into my 20 foot tall dogwood blooming all summer long. (Posted on 1/5/2018)
