This is the most gorgeous rose ever. The downside is that the petals fall off pretty quickly in a bouquet, but I still cut flowers to bring inside as there is no beauty surpassing the Abraham Darby rose! I have this rose on a wrought iron fence dividing my swimming pool from the rest of the yard. It is my pride and joy. I planted this in 2006 and now, in 2018, it is 7-8' tall and has more flowers than can be counted. It lives happily in Redding, CA, zone 9, with hot and dry summers. It is on our drip system for water in the summer. (Posted on 5/15/2018)

I live in Hawaii (Zone 12) and planted Abraham Darby in a pot on April 1, 2018. It is now May 5, 2018 and I already have 4 large gorgeous fragrant blooms to enjoy! (Posted on 5/5/2018)

I planted this rose last spring in my garden (zone 5) and it performed beautifully, even in part shade. The blooms are absolutely gorgeous at every stage, and the fragrance is incredible. I can't wait to watch it grow this year! (Posted on 1/3/2018)

I've never encountered a fragrance like the Abraham Darby - its to be savored. I'll put a few cut flowers in vases in every room, and stop to inhale them all day long. There are subtle differences, but usually one will stand out as the daily winner. The flowers are smaller, but the petals are dense. Light peach early in the season, but now with a tinge of apricot with the cooler nights. Spectacular. (Posted on 9/15/2017)

This is one of the most gorgeous roses I own. Every year, my husband gives me a different rose plant for our anniversary. This year, he gave me the Abraham Darby rose. The colors are amazing! And the fragrance is perfection! I'm looking forward to seeing it in full bloom again next year! (Posted on 9/9/2017)

Rose bush grows tall and full. Have had 4 bloomings in 4 months. Blooms are beautiful, but only last about 3 days before petals start to fall off (only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5). As it matures, maybe they will last longer or won't be as noticeable as more buds blossom. Requires minimal care, water when Mother Nature fails to, fertilizer every few weeks and prune whenever. Heirloom Roses are the very best. I have been ordering roses from them for 27 yearsReview by Suzy

Abraham Darby is my favorite rose. A lovely rose, both beautiful, hardy, dark green foliage and the blossom is esquisite. Scent I rate at 10, the most fragrant. Can not say enough things about how wonderful the Heirloom Roses company is. I highly recommend their company. Especially because they grow Roses on their own root stock; not grafted. Also you can count on each rose to bloom and grow for many years to come!!! (Posted on 5/3/2017)

I bought this rose 3 years ago and from the very start it grew very well. It is placed on the west side of my garage so it doesn't get any morning sun, and does get a little blackspot because of it. However, it doesn't phase it one bit! This rose has some of the most versatile colors in each flower. And the scent is heavenly. I look forward to it's scent and large blooms every year now. I have it trellised to go u the side of the garage and it grew to 3-4ft first year, up to 6ft second year, and we shall see how far it goes this year. It's always got some blooms on it even in 95 degree weather, and tons more if cooler. Love the flowers, love the scent, love how pliable the canes are, love the rose! (Posted on 2/2/2017)
My all time favorite!Review by Donna

I have owned this rose for years and years. Four years ago, I dug it up in mid winter (Virginia) and planted it in my new yard and held my breath. Come Spring, it started sprouting and I was thrilled.
It offers everything a gardener could want from a rose. It's mildly apricot/pink bud opens to a double apricot bloom fragrant and lovely.
This is my favorite all time (I've raised over 30 varieties). Jude the Obscure is my 2nd favorite. They're both amazing.

Blooms despite my lack of careReview by Julie

I planted four David Austin roses over 20 years ago, and Abraham Darby is the only one that lives on and blooms in my lousy clay soil under partial shade. The flowers are a glowing blend of shell pink and apricot, and the scent is delicious. My plant seems to produce more buds when I fail to prune it. This is a great rose for anyone, but especially for those of us who cannot commit a lot of time to our gardens. (Posted on 6/18/2016)
