Gorgeous Velvet BloomsReview by Wynette

Our Black Baccara arrived pretty bare, but it quickly put on healthy goliage once we had it planted in a container and fertilized with the fish solution Heirloom sells. It began producing blooms in the first month. I sent pictures to all my friends. This is one of the prettiest blooms I've ever seen--Deep red, compact velvet petals. It almost looks unreal--like it was actually crafted of velvet. It has continued to produce blooms--sometimes two at a time-- even into the summer heat--though blooms are getting smaller the hotter it gets--but they are still gorgeous with the same color and texture. We are new to the Houston--zone 9-- area and trying to find the best places for our roses (thus the container planting for now). We figure the plant will be happier when it cools down this fall. Fantastic Rose - Highly RecommendReview by Jacquelyn

I have bought MANY roses from Heirloom Roses and this is by far the best. I am in Zone 9A Florida (VERY hot). Most of these yearling roses struggle the first year in the heat. Blacck Baccara has been a champ! I'm growing this one in a pot and it is flourishing. It produces many buds at one time regularly, even shortly after arriving, and each is a perfect replica of the other. I agree with the other comment that they are like porcelain. I haven't noted much fragrance but these are extremely dark red and velvety (almost black in bud form). One of the best features is the flowers last quite a long time, on average two weeks here in the spring! This is by far the longest of any of the roses I grow. The only negative so far is it is susceptible to black spot and requires regular spraying here in Florida, although almost all of my roses do here. If you are considering this rose, you won't be disappointed! (Posted on 6/3/2018)
Black Baccara is a stunning rose! I have it in a pot and it grows very well. I have to agree with the previous review, the color is gorgeous and it looks and feels like velvet. Love this rose. Review by Knitterbug

You won't be sorry you ordered Black Baccara. The color is fantastic and the texture even more so. It's like porcelain and velvet at the same time. I mostly limit my rose orders to very fragrant varieties, but I made an exception for this one and I'm so glad I did! And not only does it look incredible, it also has lots of blooms. I have it growing next to a white rose for contrast, right by the driveway so I can admire it as I come and go. (Posted on 3/2/2014)
