This mounding Shrub is very similar to Carefree Delight as it comes from the same breeding line but has better disease resistance, plant habit, and bloom power. Bright, non-fading, cherry red with a white eye, 2.5" blooms come in large, showy clusters in flushes during the blooming season. 2009 AARS Winner. Carefree Spirit™ was selected as a Plant of Distinction in the 2014 UGA trials.
