Type: Shrub

'Desiree' blooms in absolute abundance. The classically formed 4" blooms (petals 20+), borne in clusters are rich peach with highlights at the centers, shading to delicate peach-pink toward the outer edges of the petals. They exude a strong, irresistible fragrance of fruity myrrh. A compact, very bushy plant with mid-green leaves whose serrated edges are reddish.

GorgeousReview by Christie
I live in zone 7b and after a cold spring these roses are going crazy in late May. I planted this rose last spring and I thought that the rose was amazing for it's first year. Now that it's my second year with this rose, I can say that it's a true show stopper . This is a vigorous plant that did well with the neglect I showed it this fall and winter. There are so many blooms and the smell is to die for! (Posted on 5/24/2018)
My best roseReview by Mara
I’m in zone 7B. My Desirée is planted in a raised bed on an east wall that gets more shade than is ideal for roses, but this rose just blooms and blooms and is gorgeous. The foliage is dark green and strong, seems resistant to insects, black spot and mildew — without any chemicals. I keep it watered with a soaker hose but I’m not really good about fertilizing. The fragrance is sweet and strong. I’m getting two more for a sunnier area. Thanks you for the “back in stock” alert. (Posted on 2/15/2018)
Outstanding!Review by Too many plants
Bought this rose because it looked nice in the photo and a good friend has the same name. Is planted by my porch and actually stops me in my tracks sometimes when I pass.
The first to bloom in spring with huge, perfectly formed flowers that look and smell great. Last winter was hard (zone 5) so most of the roses died back to the ground but came back true from the roots and made an outstanding show. Desiree was still performing great in November this year when it finally froze hard. First to bloom and last to shut down. (Posted on 1/19/2018)
Amazing Rose!Review by Myrna
Today is the first day of Autumn and Desiree has 5 gorgeous roses, it's in a pot and I planted it this year, hope the rose survive winter. (Posted on 9/22/2017)
Hardy from the startReview by Amy
It is truly amazing that such a little plant can bloom steadily all summer! I loved the ability to delay delivery until the frost was past in my area, and the instructions for planting were clear and helpful. I'm looking forward to this little plant over-wintering and coming back in full force next spring. (Posted on 9/15/2017)
Beautiful and delicate roseReview by Myrna
I planted Desiree a few weeks ago in a large plastic pot. Today I went to my garden and found 4 beautiful roses. I have a small garden and will be ordering more roses to plant in pots. Every garden should have the beautiful Desiree. (Posted on 6/8/2017)
Absolute Garden StandoutReview by BalconyGardenVA
This plant has been a star performer from day one in my porch garden. I have it planted in a medium wooden pot and it could not be happier. It produces huge blooms and smells wonderful. For reference, I have a number of other roses including Don Juan, Heritage, and Velvet Fragrance but right now this rose is my top attention grabber. Great rose! (Posted on 5/29/2016)
HeavenlyReview by Clements224
I have ordered roses from other companies before that died before they even made it to my house. I was hesitant to order any more roses online, but I read about Heirloom Roses and gave them a shot.
I ordered two Desiree roses; they came just before winter as a very small twig. By the size of them I really didn't think they were going make it through the winter. Well, it’s now June, the roses have grown to about 3 feet tall, the blooms are larger than my fist, and the smell is absolutely amazing. When the breeze is just right, you can smell them throughout the neighborhood, I've never smelled another flower like this. The buds have a antique peachy color, when they first bloom they are more of a light pink to a peach. As the bloom ages it turns to more of a white/pink.
I am very pleased with my purchase, the Desiree roses are heavenly; I wouldn’t be on the computer writing about them if they were anything less.

Petals like porcelain!Review by Virginia C
The delicate color and petals of this rose belie its hardiness. Everytime I pass this rose, I apologize to it for having the audacity to plant such an aristrocratic rose in a whiskey barrel. It keeps on blooming like crazy, so I think I'm forgiven. (Posted on 5/16/2013)
