F. J. Grootendorst

A Hybrid Rugosa of a different ilk, the blooms of which resemble small, red carnations with fringed petals and are produced in clusters on a tall upright plant with small, palish green leaves. A profuse bloomer that makes a nice pillar or tall narrow hedge. It has produced both pink and white sports. The Grootendorst roses are more susceptible to diseases than other Rugosa Hybrids.
