Jacqueline du Pré

Type: English Legend

A shrub rose from Harkness of England. Named for a concert cellist who died very young. Clusters of charming, elegant semi-double, milk-white 3" blooms (petals 15) that open to show their rich wine-colored center. Blessed with wonderful musk perfume. A very easy to grow, upright continual blooming plant that will flourish even under poor conditions.

Blooms are beautiful white with cranberry colored stamen that is perfect. Each bloom looks painted! The scent is wonderful too! It was one 100 for weeks here in central Texas and this rose didn't miss a beat. I love it! (Posted on 9/11/2018)
lovely little rose--and the scent!!Review by Katie

I loved the look of this rose (the white, simple petals and red stamens), and in person she does not disappoint. Dainty, elegant, and quite disease resistant. But none of the descriptions or reviews I read mention her stunning fragrance! Her blossoms smell like tangerine candy--sweet, sharp, and citrus. Just an amazing little rose.

Heirloom roses are quality. This rose, named after the cellist Jacqueline DuPre, is flushed with cream and looks so delicate, as was Jacqueline. I'm a musician...also have a clematis named after her which looks stunning from year to year. I highly recommend this rose. (Posted on 10/15/2017)

For it's small size it puts out lots of blooms. I only give it 4 stars because it does suffer from black spot occasionally. A fun edition to my whites garden. (Posted on 8/3/2017)
Single-flowered beautyReview by KatieRose

This lovely rose has large, single flowers of a delicate pink-tinged white. It reminds me of my all-time favorite single rose, Dainty Bess. Give this one a try. The bush is not large, so it can tuck in where you need some pale beauty. The dark red center is stunning, and the scent amazing. (Posted on 7/10/2017)
