Joan Fontaine™

Type: Shrub

Heirloom Roses was very proud to name this exceptional shrub rose of our own hybridizing efforts in honor of that elegant star from the golden age of movies: the Academy-Award winning Joan Fontaine. The wonderful, fragrant 4" blooms (petals 75+) begin with buds of soft, flesh pink and open to a creamy white with a glowing touch of amber in the center. The fully double, English-style flowers are carried on a striking continual blooming plant with deep-green foliage.

Slow to BloomReview by MomPerson

Here is another rose that has been slow to bloom, but when it finally did, it did so with enthusiasm! The bush is quite covered with blossoms and buds. (Posted on 5/22/2018)
Beautiful, classic, soft, romanticReview by MaddieD

For me, this rose has been a over achiever with waves of blossoms! And what beautiful blossoms with a classic rose shape and soft shading. Photos do not do it justice, much more beautiful in person. Seems quite resistant to black spot which has plagued nearby roses. (Posted on 9/27/2017)

This rose is so beautiful, so worth the wait for that first bloom. I have used this one in wedding bouquets, it is just pure romance in a flower. Just a soft cupping, creamy, rose. One of my favorite roses, and I have about 60! (Posted on 6/3/2014)
