I’ve had this rose before. I had to replace it after a hurricane took it. I’m too happy to see these blooms again!

Leonardo is tough, prolific, and very pretty after a couple of seasons

High desert 5700 ft, zone 7a:

Leonardo does very well for me in mediocre soil and mostly neglected except for irrigation. This is the third year for four Leonardo plants and there are some octopus canes, like it's really a short climber. This I don't like, but I hear that with age this goes away. I'll give the plants a hard prune this coming winter and see if that helps.

The first year the flower and buds were deformed and weird. The second year they looked more normal but I didn't get many. This year's spring flush is just wrapping up and it was absolutely abundant and glorious.

I love the color, it's not salmon in my climate, it's a very balanced warm pink that would go with many other colors, a kind of universal donor color, as long as you like bright. I have a spot where I can see both Flamenco Rosita and Leonardo at the same time, and Leonardo seems a little cooler than the watermelon-cherry pink of Flamenco (which is also amazing).

First review never got posted

So, this is my second attempt at posting my review. I give this seller 5 stars. The roses arrive live and healthy. They begin to thrive as soon as planted. Mine have been on the ground for 3 weeks now and although small and no blooms. They look healthy and alive filled with tiny leaves. I give 4 stars to the Leonardo Davinci Rose based on color and size. Rose had 1 bloom when first planted. Bloom was very small and the color more salmon pink hues. I don't like orange and yellow colors, so this is just a color preference for me. But I do not like the color of this flower. It's not pink. It should be described more like Salmon pink or coral pink...I am giving it a year to see if the size and color changes. After all it's bran new, so we'll see. I'll update my review in a year.

So far not impressed

Leaonardo DaVinci rose is pretty buy not gorgeous. First the roses are very small, I wanted large blooms. I wish the description included the size of the flower (would be helpful) Second, the color is more into the salmon color and less of rosy pink. I am keeping it for now, until I find bigger blooms and closer to pink colors. Overall tho, if you like small salmon blooms this is a very pretty rose. A better description on the website would have been helpful in choosing. It did wonderful as soon as planted and gave me 3 blooms. It's the first year, so I will wait for the second year to see if perhaps the blooms get bigger. However, I don't like the shade of pink. As I like closer to true pinks and I don't like orange and salmon colors. The plant arrived healthy and it is doing wonderful in full sun. Will order again from this website, but will do more research before I choose.
