This rose is named to honor Lord Mountbatten, the last viceroy of India with whom rose hybridizer Jack Harkness served. His large, fragrant, fully double cupped 4 ½” blooms feature 35+ petals in primrose yellow, at times edged with pink. He has reflexed petals produced in clusters on a continual blooming bush. This beautiful cut flower was chosen by the late Princess Diana for her wedding bouquet. We love Lord Mountbatten because he is an easy to grow, vigorous, upright bush with dense, glossy, leathery, deep-green foliage that will stand out in any garden or vase.

Growing fast, has one bud already!

This arrived last month without leaves as the note stated when I opened the box. I planted per instructions and I’m very please that it grew fast with lots of healthy leaves and just saw a flower bud today!

Susceptible to Disease

Have 2 of these in south Texas, zone 9. We get a moderate amount or rain and have relatively high humidity. This rose is not doing well in this climate. Treat regularly to prevent black spot yet the plants are not healthy while consistently shedding yellowish leaves. We are careful to water early morning and keep moisture off of the leaves. If you are in a similar climate I do not recommend.

Lovely little plant

My plant is not yet 3 weeks in soil, and within a week leaves came out. This one is very hardy. I took time to give it full sun and now it is in full sun and doing so well. Cant wait for it to grow more and shoot out flower buds! I must say the quality of all the plants I bought from Heirloom are excellent. I will buy from here again.
