Named for Henry VIII's Flagship. This is one of the most outstanding of the English Roses. Luscious, old-style, double 3 1/2" blooms (petals 70+) of a pleasant shade of medium pink give forth a strong, heady perfume. The quality of the blooms and great fruity/myrrh fragrance are matched by the quality of the bush. Strong growing, upright, very well branched, bushy repeat blooming plant. A must for every garden.

This time it gets 5 stars

The only David Austin rose that can be in full sun in zone 9b in clay soil and still produce gorgeous roses all summer long. Actually Spring through fall. Love it so much I ordered a 2nd one while I could.

Beautiful and Prolific

I ordered Mary Rose in June of this year. I wasn't able to get it into the ground right away, so it sat on the deck for 3 weeks. During that time it threw out a lot of new growth and a few blooms. Now that it's finally in the garden it's filling out even more and has 10 new buds. I thought it was doing well, but I didn't think it would give me such a good show already. Blooms are a lovely pink color and has perfect rose fragrance. Just love this rose!

In constant bloom!

I thought I hated this rose. I thought the cups were too floppy and didn't flower long enough. End of year 2, it's my best rose. Perfect round bush at the front of my garden, never those weird shoots. Never stops blooming. Wish I hadn't canceled my order for more. This is a no brainer. Buy 3.

She's still going strong after 23 years

I bought this rose years ago from Heirloom. No one had heard of own root roses but I was intrigued and went for it. So glad I did! Have three of these as one enters the garden gate, passers by constantly ask who she is and every year she bewitches again. Mary Rose, Iceberg, Gloire de Dijon, Golden Wings, Polka, Westerland, William Baffin, Compassion, Mr Lincoln and many others (all from Heirloom) continue to amaze. Love this company and all they have done to further the health of roses!!

Beautiful but requires work

Going on my second year with Mary Rose and she has beautiful blooms and has generally been happy. However, she's prone to get powdery mildew and so I must constantly treat my two plants with fungicide.
