Mme Isaac Pereire

Type: Bourbons

Old rose perfume exudes from the 4", old-fashioned blooms (petals 100) of dark, raspberry-purple. All this on a vigorous repeat blooming bush that may be grown as a short climber. If there were a class in rose shows for fragrance (and there should be), 'Mme Isaac Pereire' would be the star performer.

My HeartbreakReview by Lynn

I planted this rose 17 years ago in zone 7 on the east coast. The first 2 years were glorious: people call the scent “intoxicating”. I would say “transporting;” it takes you to another world. The effect the scent of this rose has on you could be a plot devise in a fantasy novel - hero smells rose and ends up in renaissance France. Unfortunately, it failed to thrive in the location where I had it, and stopped blooming, so after carefull advance preparation, I moved it about 8 years ago. It is stil alive but has never bloomed again. I hope it becomes available again as I would love to try to plant it again. (Posted on 5/18/2018)
Exceptional choice for fragrance - grows well in upstate NYReview by Diana

I ordered four of the Mme Isaac Pereire and the plants arrived perfectly packed, survived a rainy spring, have been planted and are blooming beautifully in about 85% sun in upstate NY. I have purchased this rose before for another home and have been just as happy. The fragrance is like great french soaps, except you have the real thing. (Posted on 6/27/2017)
Hard to compare to any otherReview by Anthony

I did not knew that this rose was trainable or that could be a climber, so when it started to grow a little out of proportions, so i did not what to make out of it, but it was quite a surprise when it finally bloomed, Excellent to say the least. (Posted on 2/1/2015)
One of my best rosesReview by Ol Favorite

This was one of the first roses I bought at Heirloom, maybe 10 years ago. always healthy, first to bloom and just always looks great. I have let it be a huge bush, the leaves are nice and dark, and I like the tones of pink in the blossom. Nice fragrance too. My garden just wouldn't be the same without this rose. The color of mine is nothing like the pic, which was disappointing, though still a beautiful rose, it is much more of a standard deep red/purple. The smell however, is amazing. The most beautiful smelling rose I have ever experienced. (Posted on 5/25/2013)
first bloomerReview by stephanie

Of all of my roses, this rose is the first to bloom. The sent is a little lemony. The first year I planted it I got very little growth and no blooms, but by the second year it took off, boasting more than 100 roses in one month some times three or four on the same stem. The color is a little deceiving though, it is more purple than raspberry but still very beautiful. (Posted on 5/14/2013)
