Pro:
Living in a Sunbelt state, I only keep roses that can bloom in strong flushes through our long, hot, and humid summers. And luckily, I found this variety. It can be completely spray-free as long as it’s planted in full sun. Our heavy clay soil doesn’t bother it at all. I give it a rough, cheap brand 13-13-13 compound fertilizer once a month, nothing fancy, and that’s plenty. It produces about four solid, presentable flushes from May to November. The plant grows upright and sturdy, and the blooms last a long time in a vase. Great job, Kordes! Another truly carefree masterpiece.
Con:
The bloom shape and petal arrangement don’t quite match the advertisement photos in my experience. It never really holds a deep cup shape - not even in its early stage or in cooler weather - and the yellow center is always quite shown. If you are a fan of the classic Austin-style cupped form, this one probably won’t be your taste.
