Radio Times®

Type: David Austin

The blooms carry a strong, heady, old-rose fragrance and are a pure, rich deep pink. Their shape is that of a formal rosette with the petals re-curving back as they age.

Very pleased with this rose. New this year for me and it is hardy and beautiful. I am going to wrap it in burlap now as we live near the ocean on Cape Cod and the winds are fierce and very damaging. Review by Kate

Not sure of the zone, but I live on the north side of Cape Cod in East Sandwich just up the street from the ocean and across the street from the salt marsh. (Posted on 10/23/2018)
Very hardy and nice roseReview by Tim Kline

I have had "Radio Times" in my rose bed around the patio for about 10 years, and it's still going strong. I got it originally to remember my dad who was an early ham radio operator (W8PRR) in Cinti. I'm in Naperville, a suburb of Chicago Zone 4b or 5 depending on whom you ask. I lost a number of roses over the last winter, but this one keeps on broadcasting. It doesn't receive any special treatment to protect it over the cold winters. It is subject to black spot more than I would like and the beetles love it too, but it is a beautiful english rose. This is one to consider adding to your garden. Hardier than Graham Thomas, more like Abraham Darby which is also still going strong. It doesn't seem David Austin is offering this one anymore. RADIO TIMES, a MUST for all gardensReview by LINDA

I ordered RADIO TIMES several years ago, and it is still a favorite of mine. I LOOK FOR BEAUTY, CHECK, FRAGRANCE, CHECK, DISEASE RESISTANCE, CHECK, FRAGRANCE (AGAIN), CHECK, HOW IT HOLDS UP IN THE WEATHER heat, drought, rain, wind, temperature, snow, subzero temperature, humidity, bloom time and length, BIG CHECKS ON ALL OF THESE. I WOULD LOVE TO ORDER ANOTHER ONE, OR TWO, AND MAY DO SO IN THE COMING YEAR. I BELIEVE RADIO TIMES IS A MUST FOR EVER AND ALL GARDENS. (Posted on 9/21/2017)
