I was browsing through the old garden roses on the Heirloom website, when i came across Celsiana. I bought this truly amazing rose maybe 25 years ago from Heirloom. And i was so happy to see that she is still being grown!! She is an enormous bush now of 6-8feet wide with graceful canes arching probably 8-12 ft. Every year this rose is profusely covered with clusters of big luminous pink blossoms that the bees love. Its fragrance is what i would call a true damask: strong and enticing with layers of notes that play a symphony in your nose. Like others have said in their review, although only once blooming, it stretches over several weeks. And day after day vases full of her blossoms fill my house and my friends‘ homes. I have many different gorgeous roses - but Celsiana has always been my favorite.
She gets a 4 gal bucket of alfalfa pellets every year and during our dry season i water once every 4-6 weeks…. Thats all the care she gets….

I bought this rose from you years ago and loved it. Hope I can get it again, since I’ve moved. Although once-blooming, it is very much worth waiting and only having it once a year. The blooms come over a few weeks so it’s a pretty long bloom time, depending on weather.
One of my favorite things about Celsiana is its fragrance. It is indeed a Damask with that glorious smell. I have dried the petals and made a lovely potpourri.
The bush is vigorous and problem free. At least it was where I grew it in NH. I recommend it highly.

I planted this rose about 20 years ago in an out of the way location. It has gone crazy. Its canes are probably 7-10 feet long and it puts out hundreds of silk like beautiful fragrant blooms every year. I give it absolutely NO care, no fertilizer and have never bothered even to water or prune it, yet it performs reliably each and every year. I am in Zone 5b and we sometimes get horrible winters, but they have no impact on this rose. If you are a lazy gardener, and don’t want to fertilize, water, prune, or spray, this rose is for you. And so beautiful, even if it blooms only once!

I really love this rose. I had Celsius a in part shade and she still bloomed beautifully. I entered one of my blooms in the Atlanta Rose Show and won first prize for the Damask rose category. The fragrance is so lovely. And the blooms are a romantic, billowy, fluffy light pink. I moved her to my front yard to where she will get more sun and hoping that in the coming years she’ll be covered in blooms.
