CL Gold Badge

Type: Climbing Roses

A repeat blooming climbing floribunda. This is one of the finest yellow climbers being a sport of the excellent floribunda 'Gold Badge'. It covers itself with a profusion of double 4", bright golden-yellow blooms having a sweet/honey fragrance that open to show their deep-golden stamens. 30+ petals. The blooms have decorative scalloped edges, shown to great advantage against the pale-green foliage. The most profuse blooming of all yellow climbers. Makes a good cut flower.

I bought 2 of these by accident, and I am so glad I did! I bought them as a memorial rose for my father. He loved yellow roses. I put one out front and one in the back yard. The one out front already has has a beautiful bright yellow flower just starting to open up. They have even doubled in higher and it's only been 3 weeks since they have arrived. The humidity we have had this spring up here in zone 5 has really helped I'm sure. But truly excited to see how big they get this year. (Posted on 5/5/2018)
Finally- a Bloom!Review by Carol

I am out here in zone 8 where we have been having an unusually wet winter. But winter or no, a miracle has happened in my little yard! My Gold Badge rose bush is one of the very first roses I purchased and while all the others have bloomed many times this one has never put out a single bud! I wrote two complaining reviews about it (which I see have been taken down), but I am very happy to report It has finally put out its first bloom and what a bloom it is! This is a large (about 4") bloom of vivid yellow and the petals are thick and look so perfect they could almost be plastic! I do not detect any odor, but that is not my concern as there are plenty of other roses in my garden that are full of odor such as Julia Child (almost a twin of Gold Badge) and Dolly Parton. I think this is going to be a good year! (Posted on 3/15/2018)

I grew Gold Badge from a very small cutting, I wanted a climbing rose that would lay on top of my well house and cover it with blooms. This was not the correct choice for that. It has beefy stems that stand up right and then roses cascade down from the tall beefy stems.it amazes every one who comes with it huge and numerous blooms. It's very hardy for me and does well year after year, it's the most dependable large flowering rose in my garden. (Posted on 6/8/2017)

This rose is lovely with many ruffled blooms that come in flushes. Within one year in NC, mine climbed to 5' high and 5' wide. I'm so pleased with it I've ordered a second one. (Posted on 6/7/2013)
