Polka ®

Type: Climbing Roses

The large, many petaled old-fashioned 5" blooms (petals 50+) are a blend of several shades of apricot and peach. 'Polka's' old-rose fragrance perfumes the air through the extended bloom season with an abundance of voluptuous blooms. Its disease-free, leathery, light green (almost lime-green) foliage is the perfect complement for the bloom hues.

Polka climberReview by Susan
I planted this rose earlier in the summer and she has had rapid growth. There have been three beautiful blooms and I look forward to more of their beauty next year! (Posted on 9/29/2017)
Just one blossom so far, but wonderfulReview by "Mo"
I planted 'Polka' near the end of April this year. It's now mid-August, and she has reached the top of her 6-foot trellis. That's pretty great growth! There has just been one blossom thus far, but it was so wonderful--picture perfect, and it lasted a long time. We have had so much rain this summer, but she has been healthy throughout--no disease. I do try to keep it sprayed to prevent a problem, but other roses have suffered from the seemingly endless rainfall and hot, humid days This is a wonderful, beautiful climbing rose---she makes you happy enough to want to dance a "polka." Rapid growth first summer.Review by Lynne
We received Polka in late Spring. It has grown rapidly and now has three canes that are over 6' long. It has had several blooms and has been disease free, with no spraying. It was not even bothered by our summer plague of Japanese beetles. This has been our strongest growing new rose. (Posted on 8/13/2017)
LovelyReview by Ginger
My first heirloom rose purchase and by far my fastest growing! The blooms are large and plentiful. I planted this climber last year and it has more than tripled in size. Very pleased with this rose! (Posted on 4/22/2017)
Have had this Incredible rose since 2000 In New MexicoReview by Kirsten
I can say enough about this rose. There are two Polkas on a rose arbor in my front entranceway. They bloom continuously throughout Summer and Fall. We have had a 5 year drought and then 3 years of very wet and deep freezing Springs which it has survived through without showing any letup of growth. The roses around Polka have either died or have been taken to the ground and regrown up again. The blooms are large, fragrant and a color has neighbors knocking on my door for blossoms. I Love this Rose!!! (Posted on 4/12/2017)
Looking gorgeous 12 years laterReview by Kirsten
I bought two polka climbing roses 12 years ago from Heirloom Roses. In my garden, of over 30 roses, the harbor with the Polkas always get rave reviews and never stop blooming. Thanks so much for your wonderful roses!!! (Posted on 3/19/2017)
Outstanding disease resistantReview by Dirt Flower
I've had Polka for 9 years since Heirloom Roses sent her in her own roots at 10-12 inches high. Since she has been hands down my most strongest and reliable climber. I have 50 plus rose bushes and climbers in my yard along with fruit trees, shrubs and a vegetable garden. Every single plant in my yard has has some kind of insect or disease problem. But amazingly, my "Polka-hontas" climber has never even had an aphid sit on her. I've trained her to climb out as a fan shape against our vinyl fence taking heat from our California inland which can be scorchering in late summer. But from April -August she blooms profusely with huge sherbert, salmon and peach colored roses. Even left neglected for 2 years without training or pruning and she is by far the healthiest and strongest rose. She was also gorgeous in a few wedding bouquets and centerpieces I made. Like others have mentioned. She needs her space and she will amaze you! (Posted on 11/20/2014)
Amazing heavy bloomerReview by Cynthia
I've had my Polka rose for 7 years now and each year I love it more. The blooms move through every shade of amber, peach, coral and pink. It's a very heavy bloomer with lovely large flowers. Total showstopper. It's lived through some neglect in my yard at times as well so that's another point in her favor. Mine is about 6 feet tall but oh so amazing! (Posted on 6/1/2014)
My favorite cutting roseReview by Kmac
Polka is an incredible climber, but I value this rose for its beauty in bud to fully blown. The flowers come on long sturdy stems ideal for cutting and last in the vase. Polka is a vigorous climber so give it some space. It loves the heat and flowers can take the hot summers in California. It blooms repeatedly from spring through fall. (Posted on 5/22/2014)
