they smell like a rose should, healthy, shiny leaves and very bushy!!!!

My second year with this truly luscious rose, and it’s covered with spring bloom buds. I seem to have the right climate, zone, 8B North, Texas, for the lush, purple color, and the fragrance is fabulous. Full morning sun, minimally protected afternoon sun, she’s 1/4 shaded in afternoons. She bloomed continuously last season, and we had a fairly cool climate fall where the blooms were even bigger. Adore this rose, perfect health, no black spot, strong stems. Like all my Heirloom roses, she’s planted with all HR soil amendments, fed bi-weekly during growing season with HR Founders Fish and protected by HR Mint compost, with burlap wrap for occasional deep freezes and/or ice.

I ordered two roses, ebb tide and angel face. Angel face died, I think from being in too deep shade. Ebb tide is thriving with one bloom and many more on the way and lots of healthy leaves. The fragrance is strong but unusual. In the cooler 9A Florida weather this time of year, the bloom is a deep dark purple, nearly black. Overall a very healthy and unique rose. I love it.

I planted this rose in a pot mid-November 2023. A bud appeared in January! So surprised! It bloomed today, small, only about an inch and a half across, but lovely, and fragrant. Beautiful, healthy plant. Thank you so much!
