The plant came in, packed pretty good. They put a bamboo rod in the middle of the plant before they cover it in plastic to keep the plant from getting crushed? However my plant was still damaged a bit with one broken limb. Any i followed the complete instructions for planting. We will see how it grows. Im hoping for pretty yellow rises in maybe next growing season…

Simply The Best!!

I’ve been growing Julia child roses for years as both bushes and trees and it is truly the best performing of them all! I’ve grown hundreds of different rose varieties and you just can’t go wrong with Julia Child. It is completely disease free no spraying required, blooms her heart out from early spring to first frost, has a wonderful bushy rounded growing habit making her perfect for containers, formal hedges or a uniform standard tree rose. Let’s not forget her strong delicious unique spicy licorice fragrance. I have yet to find any other rose to outperform her, closest thing to it I’ve been able to find is a recent introduction called Violets Pride which is basically a slightly larger version of Julia child but in Purple/lavender colors. Just occasionally prune, feed, water and enjoy. She’s everything a modern rose should be!

Forever Blooming

I have three Julia Childs in my small rose garden. She is forever blooming. I love to make beautiful bouquets and she is always a part of the bouquet. She is easy to grow and loves to be the center of attention. Very little black spot and a sweet fragrance makes her my favorite rose.

Perfect Addition...

We decided to turn one of our beds into a rose garden. Despite torrential spring rain and a drainage issue requiring our attention, our two new Julia Child roses have begun to thrive. The leaves are lovely green and shiny, the roses delicate and scented beautifully. Long ago, I was a fan of the chef, Julia Child, but even more, the Julia name means so much to me, as it was my late mom's name. This rose is everything I had hoped for, blooming continually, and bringing delicate sunshine, and the tender memory of my mom to our yard.
