Rugelda Puzzle

I planted this Rugelda in 2022 and almost immediately after planting had one very pretty, slightly fragrant yellow bloom, That was the one and only Performance it gave me that year. While growing without problems that year it looked kind of leggy and not very attractive. The followning year we have had a profusion of growth - very bushy and nice dark growth - but absolutely no blossoms whatsoever - HUGE disappointment. The bush itself has shiny, dark leaves, good disease resistance but also abundance of thorns.
I will give this rose until the end of the year but if no flowering - it will be removed. So far it has provided a puzzle and quite a bit of frustration for this zone 7b gardener.

Ruffly yellow beauty

This rose was planted a month ago, and has given me 1 bloom already. And what a bloom! This medium soft yellow flower is frilly and lasted quite a while considering our hot weather. Love it!

Winter hopes for Rugelda

Of the 17 Heirloom roses I planted last summer, 16 became superstars over the remainder of the growing season. I decided to replace the one that arrived dead with a Rugelda, which did not become available until Black Friday. Heirloom reps were extraordinarily helpful in overcoming problems with online order over Thanksgiving holiday. Customer service has also been superior during each of my previous contacts. Thanks, Heirloom. I'm looking forward to Rugelda showing her colors this coming spring.
