Heirloom Roses™

Roses that are bred at Heirloom Roses are commonly described as being "effortless" by those who have experienced the ease and joy of growing our roses. Heirloom Roses was created by John Clements for both the novice and expert alike. With lush, healthy blooms and rich aromatic bouquets, John's goal was to create a wide range of quality shrub roses. They are wonderful cut roses and are perfect for the cooler months in most climates.

  • Portlandia™

    13 Review(s)
Named for the copper statue in Portland, Oregon which is second only in size to the Statue of Liberty. This outstanding continually blooming shrub rose or climbing rose has an old-fashioned look. Its many petaled 3 1/2 -4" blooms (petals 80+) show a rich golden apricot center which shades to pink and cream. The blooms have a fruity fragrance and are produced in good sized clusters on long stems so that you may cut one cluster and fill a vase. Dark green, leathery foliage. Learn More
  • Louise Clements™

    9 Review(s)
While not a David Austin Roses, Louise Clements was rated by the American Rose Society ahead of 30 out of 33 David Austin English Roses for exhibition beauty. This rose has been greatly admired by both our staff and garden visitors, receiving rave reviews. Bred from 'Graham Thomas'. The old-fashioned, fully double, English-style 4" blooms (petals 70) can best be described as an intense copper. It is a color quite unlike that found in any other rose. When John first saw the rare beauty and outstanding character of this rose he knew he would name it for his wife. This plant is a continual blooming upright bush with reddish stems and bronze-green foliage which provides a background for the striking blooms and an added bonus of lovely fragrance. Learn More
  • Morning Has Broken™

    5 Review(s)
One of Heirloom's finest shrub roses from our hybridizing program. Bred from 'Graham Thomas' X 'Gold Badge'. An outstanding yellow shrub. It took a very special rose to earn the name 'Morning Has Broken' which is an old Scottish hymn and Louise's favorite song for many years. The most beautiful, rich yellow, semi-double 3 1/2" blooms (petals 15) change ever so gradually to soft yellow and literally cover the bush. Holds up well in the heat. Another outstanding attribute is that it is one of the most disease resistant , repeat blooming roses on the market today. Learn More
  • Star Of The Nile™

    8 Review(s)
Intense, deep pink, very large fully double 4" blooms (petals 80) that age to the blended colors of an Egyptian sunrise. Star of the Nile offers wonderful fragrance closely associated with the Middle East. The myrrh perfume is also in its parent 'The Yeoman'. The young foliage and stems are bronze red, developing into a densely foliaged continual blooming plant with dark-green matte leaves. Much admired by everyone that grows her. Makes a good cut flower. • Joan Fontaine™

    3 Review(s)
Heirloom Roses was very proud to name this exceptional shrub rose of our own hybridizing efforts in honor of that elegant star from the golden age of movies: the Academy-Award winning Joan Fontaine. The wonderful, fragrant 4" blooms (petals 75+) begin with buds of soft, flesh pink and open to a creamy white with a glowing touch of amber in the center. The fully double, English-style flowers are carried on a striking continual blooming plant with deep-green foliage. Learn More

An outstanding addition to the Hybrid Musk class. A startling abundance of flowers in huge clusters of soft, salmon pink, 2 1/2-3" semi-double blooms (12-15 petals) with peachy-cream centers set off by rich golden stamens. A real standout in the garden with great charm and elegance. We have received reports of excellent performance. An upright, continual blooming vigorous bush with glossy foliage. The gentle beauty of `Dancing In The Wind' will enhance any rose garden and will draw garden visitors right to it. Learn More
