Star Of The Nile™

Type: Shrub

Intense, deep pink, very large fully double 4" blooms (petals 80) that age to the blended colors of an Egyptian sunrise. Star of the Nile offers wonderful fragrance closely associated with the Middle East. The myrrh perfume is also in its parent 'The Yeoman'. The young foliage and stems are bronze red, developing into a densely foliaged continual blooming plant with dark-green matte leaves. Much admired by everyone that grows her. Makes a good cut flower.

I LOVE this rose = and I have many of them. The blossoms are really really gorgeous, dark, deep gorgeous shades of pink. Its a strong and beautiful bush. I even put two in pots and they were great for years! (Posted on 8/20/2017)

This is the star of my front yard! It's eye-catching abundance of color draws you in then rewards you with intense fragrance. The walkers in my neighborhood love it! (Posted on 7/14/2017)
Love it!Review by Eva
I received this rose this spring and have gotten one bloom from it so far. I never expect too much from a plant the first year I have it, so I was absolutely gleeful to get a bloom right off the bat! The color was an awesome neon pink that remained intense throughout almost the entire life of the bloom, and I was very pleased with how long it lasted on the bush. The scent was an amazingly sweet candy smell; it kinda reminded me of a watermelon or strawberry Jolly Rancher. (Posted on 5/18/2017)

I grew this rose in Ojai, CA. It struggled for the first 2 years. Then, it took hold. The blossoms were gorgeous with a clove scent. Loved this rose (we've moved). (Posted on 4/10/2017)
Early BloomerReview by Suzanne
In my garden this rose is intensely colored but is not a flashy "neon" pink. This year it started leafing out in February, and has the first buds on it now. I expect to see flowers by next week. The fragrance is deep but not citrusy. It has done very well in a tall pot and gets winter sun (when we have it; we often get morning fog here, and no sign of blackspot). (Posted on 3/11/2015)
Delicious Fragrance Review by Henry
This rose smells like candy! The very unique color seems to mirror the delicious fragrance. Wants to bloom continuously in my garden. I don't think there is another rose that smells like it.. One of the best Heirloom Roses in my opinion. (Posted on 6/12/2014)
