Savannah and All Her Kordes SistersReview by Valli

I am very happy with Savannah. Gorgeous flowers and disease resistant here in the tropics. Plus I have discovered quite a few of her equally life affirming Kordes sisters through Heirloom and could not be more pleased. (Posted on 6/22/2017)

This is my second year of growing Savannah. She is everything the growers say she is-fragrant, strong, disease free and more. My one point is that she has grown big-as big as 8 ft tall. When I cut her back in the late winter, I left one stem long and tied it up to see if she can be grown as a climber. I love this rose and wish more roses were like her-just smaller. I have grown this now for a full two years, maybe more. It grows RAPIDLY after a year of rooting. Determined to be big and straight up. Flowers are camellia shaped and open out flat. Burgundy tipped and glossy foliage is very healthy. even in my rust ridden garden. Very fragrant. Not so easy to place though because the color is a creamy peach with pink in it, but not quite coral. More on the coral side though than peach. I have it next to Chuckles, by convenience, and they are quite different. Chuckles is a coral pink. Savannah is a creamy pink coral. an Impatiens-type coral pink. Very very strong grower. Should be at about mid of the border. I have to move the Chuckles, or the Savannah. I think the foliage and maybe the flower, has a thicker top outer cuticle layer that helps it resist disease. Thick upright grower. Not a delicate rose, but certainly pretty. (Posted on 12/23/2016)
