Sunny Sky™

Type: Hybrid Tea

Apricot buds open into large, elegantly shaped blooms in honey yellow. Not only does the bloom give off a fruity fragrance but they sit regally on sturdy stems, making them a great cut rose. This rose is a prolific producer of medium, double (17-25 petals) blooms. The plant has won numerous gold medals (e.g., Monza Gold Medal 2010).

I ordered this for a friend in memory of her daughter who passed away—I heard it bloomed and was beautiful. She really appreciated being able to look out her window and have this beautiful reminder of her daughter. (Posted on 8/31/2018)

This year I ordered three own-root hybrid teas from Heirloom -- two old favorites and one Kordes: "Mister Lincoln," "Tropicana" and "Sunny Sky." I followed their planting instructions to the letter, and now all three are thriving and blooming. In fact, the bushes have tripled in size in a relatively short amount of time -- despite punishingly hot and windy days here in Central Texas (zone 8). Thank you, Heirloom Roses! I decided to give plants as gifts and began with this stunner to my newborn niece for her Baptism. We saved the first gorgeous blossom in her first bible. Though she isn't quite able to give me feedback on the rose just yet, it will be an exciting keepsake that we're sure will grow with her and blossom as she does throughout her life. Her parents seems to love this sunny little one in their garden. Thanks Heirloom! (Posted on 9/30/2017)
