almost no care and still excellent growth and bloomsReview by Daphne in Tacoma
I planted my white Meidilands about 18 years ago and they are a joy. The only pruning I have done is on the sunny sidewalk side so I can still walk by, and on the shady underside where they tend to get bare as they hang over a rock wall. They have grown to about 5' tall and 3-5' wide, and get covered in blooms. To deadhead, I take a rake and just 'comb' the branches, knocking off the dried blooms. The last few years I've only watered a time or two in the summer (they accidently got planted very deeply), and they don't seem to mind at all.

Bought five to cover front bank, have grown fast with strong canes. Covered all summer with copious blooms, blackspot tolerant.
Does not shed petals, so must be deadheaded. (Posted on 5/2/2017)
