Named for the copper statue in Portland, Oregon which is second only in size to the Statue of Liberty comes Portlandia. This outstanding, continually blooming Shrub rose has an old-fashioned look. Her many petaled 3 ½ -4" blooms show a rich golden apricot center which shades to pink and cream. The blooms have a fruity fragrance and are produced in good sized clusters on long stems so a single cluster can fill a vase. Expect dark green, leathery foliage on this rose. Portlandia can also be trained as a Climber if preferred in zones 5-10.

Beautiful and fragrant

A Beautifully Full Rose of Changing Colors

It grew to about 6 feet in the first year with many beautiful blooms. They start out dark orange red and fade through a coppery color to a soft pink. I can't even describe it really, but this is an amazing rose.

A success

I planted this rose last year towards the end of summer. Angel face didn’t make it but Portlandia did. Lovely fragrance. Sweet fusion pink and orange color. Tight petals.

Beautiful rose

My Portland was originally planted adjacent to my front porch, but had outgrown the space by the second year. Although my backyard was already full, I wedged it into a corner, by a tall trellis. It has been there about three years now, and is close to 9' tall.

The flowers range from a deep coral to a soft shell pink and are 4 - 5" across. The bush isn't especially attractive; A lot of branch clusters, but the flowers more than make up for that. This damp Willamette Valley spring brought on black spot, but it was not as severe as on the adjacent Golden Showers vine rose.

Wonderful smell. Long vase life. Pretty color.

In CA zone 10. I planted this rose in ground in spring 2021. It grew very tall last year (over 6') and in March I pruned it back to about 3' now it grew to about 5' and is covered with so many blooms! I wish I could attach photos here. The flowers are big, in dark pink (no orange for me), and smell so good! I cut one cluster and put it in a vase 5 days ago and it is still looking good. Definitely one of my favorites in the garden.
