The Pilgrim is an excellent, pure yellow rose that combines extremely strong and healthy growth with 4" blooms of 60+ delicate petals. His blossoms are quite large and evenly shaped, with many small petals opening to form a flat flower with a soft textured appearance. The Pilgrim makes an excellent cut flower for arrangements and his strong fragrance of tea and myrrh is a delight for the kitchen table. Train this continual bloomer to climb a wall, obelisk, or fence for a big statement piece in the garden as he can top out around 12 ft tall if given the space!

Fall purchase/spring planting.

I got this rose in November and kept in in my green house. I have recently planted it and I have my first bud coming up. I cant wait to see what this looks like.

Doing just fine

After planting in the ground , wasn't long and had a few small blooms ... but I know it will take off after it gets its footing in its new home .

Great Rose--in the ground

I love this gorgeous and fragrant climbing rose. I did have it in a very large pot for awhile because I wasn't sure where I wanted to plant it. It REALLY struggled in the pot, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why. It was beset with powdery mildew constantly, despite weekly spraying, as well as blackspot. Well, I decided to plant it in the ground and the disease cleared up almost immediately and it's growing like a charm. Unbelievable.

The plant itself grows a bit like a wild rose--thin stems, lots of little prickles, small leaves, etc. But the large yellow blooms are just gorgeous and it blooms heavily....even in shade. I couldn't be more pleased with this one from Heirloom.

Healthy and received with a flower bud!

Received healthy beautiful rose in the mail last week in 1 gallon pot. I ordered 3 roses (1 small and 1 covered in Powdery Mildew) and this by far was the most healthy and already had 1 bud waiting to bloom! This is my 1st David Austin Rose in my collection, I have high expectations for it. Definitely learning that quality is better than quantity when it comes to collecting rose plants!
