Scentimental™

Type: Shrub

'Scentimental' is a breathtakingly beautiful striped rose whose color is burgundy-red swirled with creamy-white. The large, fully double 4" blooms (petals 40+) with old-fashioned appearance comes from having striped garden roses in it's ancestry. The strong fragrance is sweet and spicy. Each petal is as unique as a snowflake. Some are burgundy splashed white, some more cream swirled with red. The flowers are perfect for potpourri. The continuous blooming plant is densely covered with disease-resistant dark green, leathery foliage and is of an excellent rounded shape.

The Scent Wins Over Brief BloomsReview by lesky

Here in southern Michigan, zone 5-6, this rose has been stellar. The foliage is so disease resistant (I don't usually spray) and healthy that it is attractive in its own right. The blooms are good-sized and so.......fragrant with spice dominating. It wafts for long distances around my yard on still nights. The blooms are quick to open and quick to fall, but I don't mind one bit because there will be more the next day or two. It bloomed like crazy right up until freeze. Somewhere I read that this rose is excellent for potpourri, which I plan to try next year. (Posted on 11/14/2018)

A great rose to have as I’ve had one previously in CA. Planted in MN mid-June and has impressed all in its first year. Worth it all and the recommendations for starring the plant are great. I had the first 4 buds in 30 days!! The second flush had 8 buds. (Posted on 10/19/2018)

This is my first year really trying to grow roses and the Scentimental Rose surprised me when I first received it as it was rather small. I am extremely impressed however with its growth this year largely impart to helpful tips from Heirloom and the use of the Alaska fish fertilizer, that stuff is amazing. I can’t wait until next year to see this rose grow and produce more fragrant roses. Is it spring yet (Posted on 10/2/2018)

The Sentimental Rose is by far among the best of roses to plant near or around an outdoor sitting area! The spicy fragrance can be very therapeutic and the petals of each rose are individually unique in appearance! The Sentimental has always been my favorite! (Posted on 10/14/2017)

This is one of the best roses in my garden. The fragrance is quite strong, and repeats in flushes from spring through late summer. It gets morning and late afternoon sun, but is shaded during the midday. It's now about 4-1/2 feet tall because I didn't prune it this spring (recovering from surgery), but with dead heading continues to produce generously. (Posted on 6/2/2017)

I planted this rose beneath our bay window (one of the first few roses I planted). I have no idea it will grow more than 5 feet! Now I have to make sure that if I prune the rose it should be away the bay window. Roughly now its height reached 7 feet. I'm not sure if it will grow more, keeping my fingers crossed. :) (Posted on 5/9/2017)

My husband bought this for me for my birthday last year. It bloomed throughout the summer and lives up to its name! Love the sent of this rose. The first few blooms were small but after some soil treatment, the next ones were large and lasted for a long time! (Posted on 4/2/2017)

I bought this rose almost 5 years ago.. First 2 years a few flowers but soon as they bloom they would fall apart within a day or two at best. Last year with plenty of fertilizer and a relocation it did perk up and bloomed a lot more but still short lasting. Love the scent old fashion floral.. (Posted on 1/28/2017)
