Super Dorothy®

Type: Rambling Rose

This rose constitutes the greatest breakthrough in climbing or rambling roses in many years. Continuous blooming from spring through fall. Clusters of beautiful, small double, powder-puff pink blooms produced in clouds to literally cover this rambler so it is difficult to see its foliage. Much more disease resistant than the older rambler 'Dorothy Perkins'.

Looking forward to getting this.Review by Mrth
I grew up 70 years ago with a 50 year old Dorothy Perkins,It's only problems were mildew and was not a repeat bloomer. When I moved to my in laws house 20years ago I traded of this rose but could not find a source. As soon as I can persuade daughter to care for it as I am now handicapped i will order it. Rapid growth in a half summerReview by Lynne
Super Dorothy has been in almost continual bloom since coming out of the box. She spent much of July in her container while we reconditioned the soil after moving an aggressively spreading blackberry. She has been in the ground for about six weeks and has continued to grow vigorously and is disease free. (Posted on 9/27/2017)
Healthy vigorous little plantReview by SuziD
Many years ago, I found Dorothy Perkins growing and blooming happily on the ground, among weeds, on the site of an old Irish fisherman's cottage out in Far Rockaway, New York City. Nothing remained of that modest homestead except the concrete slab foundation - and Dorothy, who must have been the housewife's delight. I took a cutting, but since I was then living in Manhattan and soon after, moved to Washington DC, my cutting perished.

Now I have moved to Pittsburgh and I'm planting my 'forever garden'..plants I have grown and loved in many places, and plants I have always wanted to grow. So when I saw Super Dorothy - an improved Dorothy Perkins wirh superior disease resistance - I ordered it from you this summer.

The little plant settled into my good soil and immediately began to bloom. Then it started to grow - concentrating its energies now on producing strong canes. It's a beautiful little plant - very green and extremely healthy. Not a sign of black spot. I have tied its young canes to slender bamboo poles to help it, but later in autumn will take them down and give them winter protection.

A beautiful little plant which will soon be a major focal point in my garden! Thank you! (Posted on 9/1/2017)

Always a wow!!Review by Rebekah
We planted Super Dorothy in shady areas 10 years ago. She is amazing! Always growing and puts out a bloom display of dripping, glorious pink cascades of flowers. As with all the "fairy" type roses, they arrive late, but so worth it! Very hardy, shade resistant and loves to climb. (Posted on 6/2/2017)
Beautiful and abundant tiny rosesReview by Carrie
Many years ago I dug up a rose at the edge of a cemetery and planted it in my then first home's front garden. 35 years later it was still growing and delighting me with many wonderful and fragrant tiny pink roses. Now I live in a new house and couldn't take all my plants with me so I'm working at replacing them all in this new and bigger garden. This was one of the first ones I wanted to replace but had no idea what it's name was. So I was so very happy to see this little guy here and it fit the description perfectly so I bought one hoping it was the same rose. And it is! Even before it blooms I know it is my old friend. And these people really know how to ship plants. I have never seen such careful packing from any where else. And the plant even had some tiny buds when it arrived. I am extremely happy with Heirloom Roses and will never buy roses on line from any one else. (Posted on 5/13/2017)
Last year my husband and I added horizontal 2"x2"s to our plain 6 ' wood fence . We ordered 27 Super Dorothy roses and waited for Spring this year in anticipation of them needing to be tied up. WOW! what an amazing show of MILLIONS of blooms. Can't wait to see them even higher next year . 150' of glorious pink carpet. We are adding intermixed New Dawn this month to take this display over the top. THANK YOU HEIRLOOM ROSES FOR PRODUCTS THAT ARE WORTH EVERY PENNY IN QUALITY AND SPENDOR! (Posted on 6/4/2016)

Now this rose is a spectacular site when she comes into full bloom. What a hardy, healthy growing rose. Better have lots of room for this one, but so worth it! (Posted on 6/3/2014)
