The Alnwick Rose®™

Type: David Austin

Pretty, rich pink, cup shaped buds gradually open into a deeply cupped flower; the cup a soft pink which is paler at the outer edges - a most pleasing progression. The flowers are beautiful at all stages; this illustrates very well the great variety of form to be found in the Old Rose style. 'Alnwick Castle' has nice rounded, bushy continual blooming growth and produces its blooms intermittently from early summer to the onset of frost. Plentiful green foliage ideally complements the flower. There is a good Old Rose fragrance with just a hint of raspberry.

Love the Alnwick Rose!Review by Teresa
So beautiful! If you like Austin roses, you must get this one for the gorgeous, wonderfully fragrant blooms. I almost fell over when I saw and smelled the first bloom from my newly planted bushes (all three very healthy in my Massachusetts garden). The color of the blooms in my yard are a warm, pink that almost glows, maybe because they only get afternoon sun. The size of the blooms were larger than I expected, and they stay on the bush for a nice long time compared to some of my other Austin roses. Then, there's that incredibly nuanced fragrance! If one bloom can be so powerful, when my bushes fill out and mature--wow! (Posted on 9/13/2017)
Pretty in PinkReview by Valeria
This rose is certainly living up to its press--a good growth habit, repeating blooms, awesome fragrance...what's not to love? As I make more room, I will most certainly be purchasing additional plants. This one deserves a good presence in a rose garden. (Posted on 4/19/2017)
Picture doesn't do it justiceReview by Mirmy
This is one of my best roses. I ended up buying another because the color is so beautiful. Where I live, it is much more pink with light pink cups on the inside. (Posted on 2/3/2017)
Wonderful Rose for Any GardenReview by Patricia G.
Very nice shrub rose. Lovely blossoms in color and form. It has a great heavy scent. I have a large number of David Austin Roses and would rank this one in my top ten favorites. My other top favorites are all David Austins - William Shakespeare 2000, The Ingenious Mr. Fairchild, Evelyn, Harlow Carr, Abraham Darby, Heritage, Boscobel, The Wedgwood Rose, Sharifa Asma.
